Good Customer Service

Last Saturday night, my wonderful husband, Russell, surprised me with 2 dozen red roses and steak which he made for dinner. A couple days later the roses were looking a little droopy and the edges were brown. That is NOT normal. Ever time Russell purchases flowers from Sam's Club they die within a few days. (Whenever I purchase flowers from Walmart they last me 2 weeks and I didn't do anything differently.) I was in Sam's this weekend and asked told the customer service lady about my roses. She told me to bring them back. I picked Russell up from work and we went to music practice at church (the whole time the roses were in the hot car). We made it back to Sam's with only a few minutes to spare before they closed at 8:30 p.m. They lady was so nice. I couldn't find my receipt which was in my purse the whole time; I just couldn't find it since I was hurrying. She let me exchange them anyway without any questions or being rude. I had such a great experience that I'm going to e-mail their customer service and let them know. So often in retail you never hear positive feedback! Just thought I'd share the good experience.

Is it August or Christmas!?!

Today we received and put out our first Christmas item! The cover of Paula Deen's magazine this month is for the Holiday. Already! It seems like Christmas gets overlooked, but this year I'm glad to see a Christmas magazine BEFORE seeing a Halloween item. It has always bothered me that we go from GETTING (or begging for) candy at Halloween to GETTING gifts at Christmas and overlook GIVING thanks at Thanksgiving. I know this is how our society and retail are, but we need to be thankful. So, I'm being thankful to see a Christmas item. I guess Christmas is just around the corner...

OUCH!!

I had 2 teeth pulled Thursday. The dentist did a great job and it was painless until the numbness wore off! I rested all afternoon and evening Thursday, slept all night Thursday, awoke at 8 a.m. Friday. I had a little breakfast and slept the most of the day as I felt very sick! I got up to take the antibiotic felt even worse wishing I would either throw-up or die!!! I obviously didn't die but did the other and felt a little better. (The pain pill is the same I have for my back except it is a stronger dose and my stomach can't handle it; I can hardly take the smaller dose without throwing up) I slept all night Friday and woke up feeling much better today. I took it easy as I didn't want to overdo it so we could go to the Arbonne Mercedes Benz Presentation tonight for my NVP Shannon. Russell was able to go this time and a friend from work and a couple from church. The couple is very interested in the company and my friend already is a customer. :)

I'm thankful the Lord allowed me to feel up to going tonight. It is neat to see others realize what Arbonne is all about and the difference it can make in their lives and those around them. Monticello

Russell's parents came and visited from July 17-24. We went up to Charlottesville early Thursday morning and checked into the Sugar Hallow Inn Bed & Breakfast. It is a nice B&B with beautiful scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Check it out at www.sugarhollow.com. We ate lunch at Revolutionary Soup. Their Tomato Bisque was superb, and the BLT was the best I've ever had!! Then we walk down the "mall" stopping in 3 or 4 used book stores that Russell and I enjoyed browsing through. Russell purchased a bag full at a great price. Then it was time to head up to Monticello for our tour of Thomas Jefferson's home. For Supper we ate at Zocalo, a South American fusion restaurant. Their Steak is delish! We finished the night using the Jacuzzi at the B&B. In the morning we had a nice breakfast where we met some people from upstate NY. It's a small world. I really enjoyed our trip and wish we could have stayed in Charlottesville longer, but I had to be back for harry potter...which I despise!!!

ANNIVERSARY DINNER

Russell and I celebrated our 3rd Anniversary June 12th. My parents left at 6 a.m. We stayed up after saying our sad goodbye and organized some more at our new home. That evening Russell took me out to Todd Jurich's Bistro (http://www.toddjurichsbistro.com/index2.html) on Waterside Drive in Downtown Norfolk; it was INCREDIBLE!!!! I didn't think it was going to be that expensive and ritzy. We walked in and were greeted immediately (we had reservations which you should make before you go) they took us to a nice booth. Our waiter was great; he was friendly and there when you needed him. Our food was wonderful from the appetizer to the dessert! I would highly recommend it; it is at the top of my list with Ruth's Chris Steakhouse!!! Happy Anniversary Honey I love you so much! Thank you for 3 wonderful years together; I look forward to many more.

Busy Sunday

For dinner we went to Rob & Laurel's. After our delicious steak dinner (seriously), we enjoyed each others company and the great weather in their backyard. Laurel has a nice vegetable garden and was telling me how she was going to pick strawberries Monday morning and invited me to go.

At 5 p.m. Sunday, the birthday girls club was having our last get together. Unfortunately Dawn was not able to be there, but Natalie, Julie, Jess, Katie, Lindsay, and I were able to have a nice time visiting.

While I was at Julie's with the B-day girls, Russell was at Nate & Laura's for Sunday night Bible study. He met me at Harris Teeter and we went to Aaron & Marie's for homemade brownies. (I'm never planning on using the box mix again) What a difference. We got home late and went to bed so I could get up early and pick strawberries with Laurel. The picking was great and they are so cheap! Russell helped me make jam in the afternoon. Thanks honey for being so flexible and allowing us to have a crazy day Sunday. Also, thank you for helping with the jam. I love you so much!!!

Update

I stayed home from work tonight (still not feeling well) and saw on the news that the 6 year old boy died in that accident (picture posted below). His father was under the influence of drugs when he was driving his 4 children in Newport News Saturday. None of the children had on seatbelts! What a stupid "Father". It makes me so mad when people don't wear their seatbelts. The news didn't mention the condition of anyone else or comment on if there were any other fatalities . Pray for this family.

Starbuck's Coffee Tasting

Saturday Russell and I had taken the day off to go to Starbuck's coffee tasting. We had a Great day together. We left early and made it through the tunnel in less than 30 minutes; we were commenting on how we were making great time when...we came to a stop in traffic. We drove/stopped/drove/stopped, etc for 1 1/2 hours (about 5 exits). There was an accident; a car flipped in the median.

When we arrived in Richmond, we went right it the coffee tasting. They had tents set up with a different brew and pastry in each one. Then we went over to Chipotle; one of our favorite restaurants! We headed back to Williamsburg and Russell was so kind to stop at the Ann Taylor Outlet for me. What bargains I got; five items for under $75!!! Then we stopped at Trader Joe's (thank you James & Blair for telling us about this great health food store) Everything is so reasonably priced. We took our groceries home and went to the Scope to see Third Day. Once they were done we left and went to Chili's for their Molten Chocolate Bunt cake out on the terrace. Thank you Russell for a wonderful day!! I love you!!

Strep Throat

I had a high fever Thursday, but I went to work anyway. My boss let me go around 8p.m. so I could go to Patient First. She thought I might have Strep throat. (My co-worker and I share a phone and he had it.) I went and sure enough I had the beginning of Strep. I dropped off my perscription at Eckerd (I didn't have my Perscription card with me to purchase the RX at Patient First) When I first went in I was thinking 10:30 at night is the time to go. I went home and they called twice. The second time to tell me they didn't have the perscription I needed. Russell got home and took me to pick up my Slip to take accross the street to Wallgreens. In there they weren't sure which bottle it was. So, hopefully I ended up with the right perscription! I stayed home from work Friday as I was contageous for 24 hours and slep all day.

Congratulations Russell!!

Praise the Lord!! Russell turned in his last paper today and is now finished with his schooling here at CBTS. It will be nice to spend more time together, but it really hasn't been as bad as everyone says when you come to seminary. Maybe I feel that way since Russell is so smart and doesn't have to study as hard. The only struggle for me has been our work schedules, but the Lord has worked it all out. Congratulations Russell on finishing another semester and becoming an official manager at HSBC!! I am very proud of you. I love you and thank the Lord for you!

Brad's Wedding

I went home for my brother's wedding last Wednesday. I told my mom next time I'll go home a day before the wedding and stay the week after. It was nice to be home, but it was busy with wedding stuff. The weather was beautiful!! Brad & Kelly had a great warm, sunny day. Everything turned out to be absolutely gorgeous!!

I went home last month to see Adam & Tracee's new house, Brad came up to visit, Kyle was in a school play, Kaylee was in a Handbell Choir for school, and Kyle had his first Volleyball game. I was able to see his last game this time. :)

Departing Syracuse International Airport I looked out the window and followed the roads and saw the malls, businesses, etc. Then I saw Lake Ontario, Oswego Power Plan, the smoke stacks, and the water towers in Fair Haven, Our church, ...AND I saw my parents HOUSE!!!! We flew over their house at 9:30 a.m. Monday. I've been flying from Syracuse for so many years and have never seen it before.

In Detroit they were asking for a few people to go on the later flight. I volunteered to wait and get the FREE $200.00 voucher. (This is my 3rd one this year -Praise the Lord!!!) I felt bad because Russell had taken part of the day off to pick me up and spend some time together, but he said it would be okay to stay and get the voucher. When I purchased the ticket to go home for Brad's wedding I booked the wrong flight, but the Lord had it all planned for me to go on the earlier flight so could get the voucher.

I don't have time to post pictures, so I'll do it later.

BEFORE & AFTER

Last monday I had my hair cut. My hairdresser was not there (1st mistake) It took so much to get me there that I decided I just needed tp get it over with. Russell been wanting me to cut my hair; he dropped me off while he did some arrands. (2nd mistake not having him come in with me). I did not take a picture with me because my hairdresser doesn't need one. (3rd mistake)

My friend, Marie, was willing to re-cut my hair this afternoon. It looks and feels so much better!! Thank you Marie!

Admirals' Hockey Game

Mark & Stephanie bought Russell & I tickets to the Admirals Hockey game tonight. The Admirals were playing WB Scranton (PA). I've never seen so many fights in one game! SNOW

We had our 2nd snowfall last night. It was so beautiful!! It was snowing lightly when we left for James & Blair's at 9 p.m. We left after 12:30a.m., and the snow was sticking. I was praying it would continue through the night, but when we woke up the sun was shinning and no sign of snow. However, it was freezing cold outside. If it's going to be this cold we might as well have snow!!!!

THANKFUL FOR GOD'S PROTECTION AND GRACE

I was hit on my way to church this morning. The road was changing from one lane to two lanes. The car in front of me got into the left lane but decided he wanted to be in my lane instead. He just came on over!! I blew my horn, slammed on the brakes, he sideswiped me, and I skidded to a stop. I got out of my car looked at a piece of "car" and tried to figure if it came from my car or his. I looked at my door and the rest of the driver side and my jaw dropped. I called 911 and the police arrived momentarily. I called Russell and asked him to come (he was already at church). While we were waiting for the cop to finish her report, the three of us were talking and found out he is an elder at a church and was on his way to church. I told him I had a feeling that something bad was going to happen today and didn't want to go anywhere. He replied that he believes everything happens for a reason. Russell and I said that we agree with him. God is sovereign and has a reason for everything. The theme at church this morning was Grace which was very touching. I started crying when we sang the third verse of "Amazing Grace" which says: "through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come; 'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home." I don't usually react properly in situations like this, but the Lord helped me to be calm, and I never freaked out wondering how this would all work out with the insurance, getting a rental, etc. I still have a long way to come, but the Lord helped me to react properly today. I'm thankful for his protection and grace!

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse

Russell wanted his birthday dinner to be at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. We went 12/27/06 since his birthday was Christmas day. We had the BEST steak which melted in you mouth! Their side dishes were also so wonderful. Our waitress gave us our large chocolate molten bundt cake with ice cream free of charge. They usually give you a small desert if it's a special occasion, but since we told her what we wanted before we knew that she just gave it to us. They brought a French Press out and pressed the coffee right there at our table. The inside of the restaurant is BEAUTIFUL!! If we were rich I think I'd love to go there once a week. We had a great experience there and highly recommend it to anyone with $150 + extra to spend on dinner.

Inversion Table

I ordered an inversion table and it finally came yesterday. Thanks to UPS, it arrived safely without a scratch, etc! When I went home in November I tried out a friends table and I was sold. The table does an excellent job of reducing back stress by relieving pressure on vertebrae disks. It stimulates blood circulation to relieve stiff muscles and increases body flexibility. Many doctors recommend inversion as a way to solve back problems. The doctors have told me my back problem is permanent, but I'm NOT going to give up. This table takes pressure off my disks and gives me a good stretch and some relief from the excruciating pain. If anyone has back pain give me a call and we can "Hang Out".

Christian Fellowship

Sunday was a busy day as we went to Colonial for S.S., then to "our" new church for S.S., and the morning worship service. The Browns invited us to their house for dinner after church previously in the week, but at that time I was going to be giving a piano lesson at 12:30. Rae called sun. morning saying they would be late if they were able to come after their soccer game. That worked out well so we could get together with Jeremy and Sarah. We went to the Olive Garden: my favorite!! What a wonderful time getting to know them better; we've been trying for a few years to get together with them, but it never worked out. Then Sunday p.m. we went to Colonial for the evening service and to Amanda & Garrett's after for more fellowship with many friends there. We played Settlers of Catan and had a great time visiting with everyone. After working all week I really desire to be at church and fellowshipping with other Christians. I'm thankful to live in a free country where we can worship openly. Also for all the many wonderful friends the Lord has blessed us with!

HSBC Christmas Gala

Russell and I had 2 Christmas parties to attend Saturday. In the afternoon we had our S.S. Christmas party and had a wonderful time, rushed home, and got ready for the Gala. Nate & Dawn saved a table for us and many of our friends; thanks guys! We wish they had bigger tables so all of us could have sat together, but it was nice to see everyone. It wasn't organized as well as it should have been but we had a great time. Russell even taught me how to play blackjack.

Girls Day Out

I worked 12 hours Wednesday and slept in late Thursday, so I didn't get to Stephanie's when I planned. (Sorry Stephanie!!) We had coffee and visited for a couple of hours and then we went shopping. Stephanie, Victoria, and I went to Ollie's and had a great time shopping and looking through the books, etc. We purchased many great deals! I love buying books at such a low price. After shopping we ate lunch at Boston Market. Victoria is the best little girl to take shopping and out to lunch; she was happy the whole time. It was a great day together. We need to do it again soon! Next time we'll take Natalie as she has never been to Ollie's.

He's Coming Home!

Praise the Lord! Grandpa is coming home today. I called my grandpa's hospital room over an hour ago and my Grandma said the nurse was there giving them the release orders. Please continue to pray for his recovery since he'll just be laying around for the most part and it will be easy for him to catch brohncitis or pneumonia.

Also, pray for Russell's Grandpa his health is not well. Thank you!

Answer to Prayer

Thank you for praying for my Grandpa! My Grandma, mom, and 4 uncles were all there at the hospital during the surgery as the doctor requested. The doctors were impressed at how well the surgery went. My Grandpa was in ICU for several days, but is doing much better (he's getting into trouble by getting out of bed without the nurses help). He should have come home today, but wasn't eating well and then throwing up. He ate better when Grandma was there to help feed him. Lord willing he will come home Wednesday. Please pray for a quick recovery as he is in a lot of pain.

My mom got the test results back and the doctor sent her the next day to see a specialist. She has Thyroiditis. She has to go back in March. I'm not sure what they are doing for treatment in the mean time.

PRAYER REQUEST

While I was home, my Grandpa Webber had some tests done on is heart. The Dr. told him he needed open heart surgery and triple bypass surgery. He goes in tomorrow morning. My family would appreciate people praying for him and the rest of the family as they wait at the hospital tomorrow, etc. I'm thankful that I was able to see him this past week. My brother, Brad, was not going to come up from NYC this week, since he'll be coming up for Thanksgiving, but he was able to arrive 1:30am Friday and Leave at 5:30 that evening. It was great that he could come up to see Grandpa and we could see him as well. :) Also, my mom should be finding out the results right now from the sonogram of her Thyroid. Please pray that this won't be anything serious. I'm thankful the Lord allowed me to go home this past week to see everyone. God has perfect timing. Thanks for your prayers!

Second House

God is so good!! I was talking with some friends (co-workers) at work tonight about wanting to get more houses to clean and piano students so I can work fewer hours at my current job. Sarah got excited because she's been looking for someone to clean her mom's house. The neat thing is her mom lives less than 1 mile from me!! She called her mom and in 10 minutes asked when I could start. The Lord is slowly providing some better income for me which I am so thankful for! I'll probably start after my week of vacation. :)

Another great thing is I've found a new wonderful massage therapist who is a Christian. She brings her table to my house and does a 1 hour massage therapy session on Sunday afternoons!! She is cheaper than the last lady I had, I don't have to drive which hurts my back, and she is so nice. If anyone is interested in getting massages from her let me know she is WONDERFUL!!

African Violet

My African Violet from my friend (Jess D.) now has 2 flowers! I'm surprised it has done this well since I don't have the best green thumb. I acidentally killed my last Violet. Jess told me how to properly water them which has really helped.

2nd Piano Student (in Virginia)

On Sunday, a co-worker brought her son, Tyler, for his first piano lesson. He did very well; I was impressed at how quickly he cought on. He currently plays the Viola so that helped already having a musical background. My first student down here was Russell. After we bought my piano, he asked if I would teach him. He also has a musical background and is rapidly progressing despited his working full time and going to school full time and grading for Dr. Klem, etc. We fit his lessons in whenever we are home together with time to "spare".

I taught piano lessons to my brother, Kyle, and kids from my church in NY. I'm glad to be teaching again as I've really missed it!

Special Birthday Trip

Sunday, Russell took me to Panara for breakfast. Then we went to Williamsburg and shopped part of the outlet mall. I even found some dress pants at the Gap and Bass. (Now I need to find the time to get the waist altered at Zoots so I can wear them.) Then we went to Olive Garden for my birthday dinner. I love their Peach tea and Tiramisu! After lunch we went to the Yankee Candle store, Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, had ice cream at Friendly's, went to Barnes & Noble, and walked through some stores in Merchant Square. I had a great early Birthday trip spending the day with my wonderful husband! Thank you Russell, I love you!

This is where the injetion was for my CT scan between the MRI's on tuesday. The yellow is what they rub on before the injection. I still don't know the test results! It is hard for me to get ahold of my Pain Doctor with my work schedule. Oh well, I've lived with this for almost 4 years what is a few more weeks!?!

Adam & Tracee's Wedding

My brother, Adam, got married September 16, 2006! I flew up the 12th and arrived around 12:30 am at my parent's house. Russell flew in the 14th and we flew back together the 18th. During our layover in Detroit we saw my second cousin and his wife. (They just got married recently in Germany and were on their way to NY for their wedding reception there with family and friends. I was really disappointed that we couldn't be there for that (and my mom's special b-day Sept. 23rd) so it was great to see them and talk for over 30 minutes.

Adam and Tracee's wedding was beautiful! They had a nice multimedia presentation before the wedding. Everything was so beautiful. Tracee looked Gorgeous and Adam, Brad and Kyle looked handsome! Kaylee was the flower girl and she looked like a little princess. My parents also looked great! I think the best part of the wedding was their wedding vows that they wrote to each other; they were touching and special.

My mom is having a special birthday today. I love you so much mom! Thank you for everything you do, have done, and have taught us. You are the best mom. Wish I could be there to help celebrate. Thankful for Godly Friends

Thursday, I went to visit Stephanie and ended up staying for 6 hours! Victoria woke up, and I was able to play with her for a little bit. She is so adorable and petite. Stephanie made a delicious meal of Ravioli, cheese bread, and peas! We had a great time of fellowship talking about what God is teaching us. Earlier that morning, I went to chapel with Russell. Pastor was talking about God's sovereignty and living every day believing He is sovereign. It seems like the Lord keeps showing me that He is sovereign through the piano ordeal, my latest Wisconsin meeting, and allowing me to fly home a day early from Milwaukee to Minneapolis to home! I sure got enough exercise! Not to mention walking the airport in Detroit that morning just to get some Starbuck's coffee.

God is in control!

Back in the middle of May, I was trying to purchase an electric piano online. I called Lentine's Music store in Ohio and told the salesman I wanted to purchase the piano. After 2 months we actually received the piano; however, it was BROKEN!! Thanks to the bad FedEx driver's carelessness. He asked Russell to help him move it because it was to heavy. That should have been our first clue. Anyway, we sent it back and they put a claim on it. The salesman would not lower the price and kept telling me I was getting a great deal. It was the only Technics left in any of their stores. (Panasonic no longer manufactures Technics Pianos.) I was going to try it once more since they were having their tech's repair it. I was told it would be 2 weeks and he would call before it shipped. It is now the end of August and I had to call him. (I've been the one contacting him. He's the worst manager/salesman ever with poor customer service!) It still wasn't shipped. My mom called me Sunday night and told me my old boss was selling her piano. I called her and she was asking $100 less. Her piano is in GREAT condition, I used to clean it and she hardly ever played it. It came with the piano bench unlike the other one and has never been damaged. Her husband works for Atlas Van lines (a moving company in Rochester, NY) he was moving someone down to NC and delivered my piano on the way! Free of charge. It is all in one piece and looks like new, had a bench and also came with around 50 piano books!!! I am so excited! It is like Christmas. It is neat to see how God had this all planned out. I saw the price of the one from Lentine's and thought that was the one God had for me, but now know that the 3+ months of waiting, etc. was all part of His plan for me to get a better one! What a Blessing.

Late Date

Russell and I went to the Olive Garden after 10 pm tonight. I was craving their Tiramisu. We looked online and found out they close at 11pm, so we had about one hour. It was not to busy going that late. We enjoyed coffee and Tiramisu. Yum, yum!! It is so nice to be able to get up and go whenever we want. :) I love you, Russell!

Friends

Today after church we met the Baylors for dinner at T.G.I. Friday's. We had a nice time visiting with them; it's been so long since we've gotten together. I enjoyed the double quesadillas. Then tonight after church we went to Sarah & Steve's and had some delicious stuffed shells, salad, and peanut butter, chocolate chip cookies! We've been trying to get together every since they moved down here. (over 1 year now) We enjoyed fellowshiping and playing Apple's to Apple's. Well, since it's 15 minutes after midnight I think I'll get ready for bed.

English Breakfast Tea

Last saturday morning I went to Stephanie's house. We had a great visit; she is always so encouraging! She introduced me to Eanglish Breakfast tea -- it is delicious. If you like tea you'll enjoy it. When we visited on Wednesday she gave us Almond Sunset, which is also good. I'm drinking decafinated tea more instead of so much coffee. Thank you Stephanie!

My wonderful husband!

Our day started by getting up early and going to my "favorite" place...the gym. Russell is so good to go with me and help me work out. Since I don't have a personal trainer anymore Russell helps me with the workout to make sure I do exercises that should be done together and will not hurt my back! I appreciate his patience, concern and thoughtfulness. When I finished my workout, we went to Central library. Wow! It is much nicer than ours. We came home grilled lunch, got Russell ready for work. I did some housework and then rode my bike down our road. The weather was beautiful for it. :) I had to work at 3:30p.m. until 12 (midnight); however, I didn’t leave until 12:35a.m. One of our cafe workers got sick with the flu and had to go home after being there for an hour or two. So, that meant that Sarah and I had to cover. I am not trained over there like I should be which made it frustrating! I'm thankful for the time I had to get familiar with some of the codes. I would love to know why people can't just purchase coffee when they go to a cafe!!! Customers wanted non-fat, no sugar, etc. What's the point? Anyway, I'm thankful we weren't there any later.

Back to my wonderful husband- I'm so thankful for his patience with me as I'm not able to do things like a normal person. Also for his help with vacuuming, and different things that hurt my back. He is so sweet to give me a good back massage on the days I workout and need it most.

Norfolk Botanical Gardens

These are a few pictures from the Botanical Gardens. Russell's parents went with us when they visited. It was beautiful; we can't wait to go back. After we saw the gardens we went to the airport overlook and watched the planes take off from Norfolk International Airport. It was incredible to be that close and see and hear what goes on when we fly.

Williamsburg

Russell's parents are visiting this week (July 19-26). We went to the Botanical Gardens Saturday (I'll post some pictures another day). Today, we went to Williamsburg. Last year the four of us purchased the passes for a year, so we were able to go into many buildings and have tours. We had a wonderful day!

Bedford Park

Last monday, Mom, Debbie, Kyle, Kaylee, Emily, Ryan, and I went to the park to let the kids play on the playground. We all had a nice time. I am so thankful for the opportunity to spend time with my mom, brother, and sister. I miss spending time with them.

Jeff played for Hannah's wedding; it was great to hear him play again! He was my piano teacher in New York. Jeff used to play for the Carnival Cruise ships. Currently, Jeff is a music teacher in a public school and does gigs. He has 5 cd's out. Once my cousin Kevin started to play at the reception I had to look and see if it was him or Jeff. Kevin also took lessons from Jeff.

Hannah & Zack's wedding

Russell and I went to visit my relatives July 13-17. My parents, Kyle, & Kaylee also came down. Seven out of nine of my dad's brothers and sisters were there. It was great to see thenm all again. I wish Adam and Brad could have come down as well. We stayed with my Uncle Clark, Aunt Debbie, and family. They have a 2 week old baby, Ryan James Smith. We got more sleep there than we do at home. We never heard him cry in the night. What a blessing! My cousin Hannah (who I used to babysit) married Zach on Saturday, July 15th. What a gorgeous wedding! They went on a cruise for their honeymoon. :) Zach is studying to be a youth pastor.

Ouch!!!

Nate & Dawn, Jesse & Natalie, Dave Wilson, Russell and I went to the beach saturday before Amanda & Garrett's reception. The water was a little on the cool side for me, but thanks to Russell I was wet within minutes. (I like to get "used" to the water and get in slowly) I guess we didn't put the 45 spf sunscreen on Russell as often as we should have. I put it on 4 times the time we were there. Russell only applied it twice. He ended up with blisters on both shoulders.

I feel sorry for him; as I know what it is like to live with pain and discomfort every single day! Jesse was so nice to pop the blisters. (I knew I couldn't.) Now we are treating them

THANKFUL FOR FRIENDS

God has blessed Russell and I with so many wonderful friends. Yesterday after church we had Jesse Trach and Ben Kidd over for dinner. We wish that Natalie and Allie could have been here, but are happy for them as they spend time in KC with family.

Our evening service was unique; our two sister churches (Oceana & Williamsburg) met with us for a time of fellowship and Communion. It was nice to worship together. We visited with Mark, Stephanie, and Victoria Stonis after church. Stephnie's mom was there and it was nice to see her again. After church we had Nate and Dawn Mihelis over for coffee and dessert.

Tonight, Dawn M. had Kris B. and I over for supper. We had ravioli and texas toast. :) We had a relaxing time of fellowship.

ANNIVERSAY TRIP TO WASHINGTON, D.C.

Russell and I had a great time in Washington D.C. last weekend. (June 17-19) We were going to go the previous weekend because our anniversary, was the 12th, but I was unable to get it off. We saw almost everything. My favorite was the White House. We took many pictures that I will post eventually. We were dissapointed with the Smithsonian Museums; the museums in Rochester, NY and Kansas City are so much better.

We were so excitted to eat at Chipotle again! We even stopped in Richmond to have our last Chipotle for a while. I wish there was one closer to where we live!

It was great to spend 3 whole days off together! We are looking forward to many more day/weekend trips this summer.
